  • Be a current California Earned Income Tax Credit  (CalEITC) recipient OR

  • Possess an Individual Tax Identification Number (ITIN) and earned $75,000 or less in total California Adjusted Gross Income;

  • Be a California resident on the date payment is issued;

  • Be 18 years or older as of the last date of the tax year; or

  • Not be eligible to be claimed as a dependent.

  • Must have taxable earned income of $30,000 or less.

  • Must not use “married/Registered Domestic Partner (RDP) filing separately” if married.

  • Must have lived in California for more than half of the year.

CalEITC requirements and information.

If you meet these requirements you will receive a one-time payment of $600 or $1,200, depending on your income and filing status.

Golden State Stimulus payments began in March 2021. Once your 2020 income tax return is processed and if you meet the eligibility requirements, you can expect to receive your payment either by direct deposit or a mailed check. 

  • Allow up to 45 days for direct deposit.

  • Allow up to 60 days for paper checks.
